Job Description

Our client is urgently looking for a Manager (Credit) within the Financial Services Division at Piet Retief, Mpumalanga.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To evaluate portfolio risks and making final credit decisions in line with company policy
To interact with departments regarding credit management strategies
To assess credit applications and managing credit approvals
Reducing percentage of non-performing loans
Alleviating bad debts
To manage limits that are in excess of the normal limit
To apply debt restructuring principles
Timeously recommend hand over of delinquent accounts
To drive excellent customer service delivery
To attend Credit Bureau meetings or any other meetings and if requested
To manage Credit Bureau reports
To ensure all deadlines, timelines, and all required and relevant credit control and company policies and procedures are applied and adhered to
To manage, develop and support subordinates
To maintain sound relationships with internal and external customers
To develop, review and update company’s credit policies and procedures
Negotiate loan terms with customers and suppliers
Compile annual budgets
To compile monthly reports

Qualifications and Skills:

Must have Matric / Grade 12
BCom degree (Finance, Credit)
Must have at least 8 -10 years’ proven credit experience
Computer literate (Microsoft Office 365)
Must have experience in the agricultural industry
Must have experience in managing debtors books over R1billion
Must have knowledge on relevant legislative amendments and industry best practices
Effective and sound decision making ability
Must have excellent problem-solving skills
Must have effective communication skills
Detail orientated and output driven
Must have valid driver’s license
Negotiation skills
Must have ability to deal with stressful situations
