Job Description

We are looking for assistant retail manager to take position in our team urgently

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To prepare, co-ordination and handling out of Floats
  • To prepare Float for Admin Desk
  • Daily Banking
  • Consolidation of previous nights cash up
  • To prepare paperwork as per HQ financial process
  • To be prepared for SBV collection
  • To assist cashiers with cash drops
  • To allocate change as per requests
  • Cash up at the end of every shift
  • Correction of cashier mistakes with consent from Retail Manager
  • Match attendance registers against biometric system and print for sign off
  • To assist with and or refer any HR related queries
  • To assist with leave requests and forward to HR after authorization
  • To uniform and PPE orders and issue thereof to staff
  • Recruitment of staff as per retail manager instruction
  • Management of casual payments
  • To report and administer any IR related issues in conjunction with HR
  • To set up the weekly cleaning schedule
  • Administration of old stock write off and stock transfers
  • Check receipt invoices against orders and send through to GRV
  • To follow up on GRV Cycle
  • Issuing of purchase orders
  • To handle transfer requests from HQ
  • Payment requests for general store management
  • Weekly filing, creating, updating and maintaining records and databases
  • Open shop everyday and ensure that all safety procedures are met during a daily walk about
  • Daily lock-up and alarm activation
  • Do daily price check and do corrections when required
  • Assist and resolve customer queries
  • Upkeep of canteen
  • Stand in for the retail manager when mandated to do so
  • Upkeep of stationary volumes, labels, soap etc
  • To check fridge temperatures
  • To report any maintenance issues to HQ
  • To prepare daily stock take sheet as per HQ List
  • To prepare for full stock take every 3 months
  • To deal with process expired stock, rotation of stock and ordering of stock
  • To support department managers and co employees
  • Actively participate as a member of the tram
  • Preforming any other tasks which from time may be assigned by manager
  • To ensure that cleaning and housekeeping standards on equipment and work areas are maintained according to laid down standards and norms
  • To ensure personal hygiene standards are maintained
  • To take reasonable care for own health and safety as well as the health and safety for others
  • To wear correct PPE in accordance with the company policy and procedures
  • No interference or abuse of any health, safety and environmental welfare equipment
  • To keep work areas clean and free from hazards and risks

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Administration
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Retail Manager or a similar field
  • Have a Matric Certificate
  • A tertiary certificate in Retail Management will be an advantage
  • Ability to deal with a variety groups of people
  • Forklift license will be an advantage
  • Have strong attention to detail
  • Be computer literate in MS Office
  • Be bilingual in English & Afrikaans
