Job Purpose

The major purpose of this job is to provide a comprehensive reward governance and employee data privacy service to the Nedbank Group (including its international subsidiaries)

Main Responsibilities

  • To deliver all activities in the incumbent’s role scope within budget and in accordance with agreed timeframes
  • To develop a strong reward governance environment by building awareness and capability in line HR and specialist environments, through the creation of appropriate governance frameworks and toolkits
  • To embed core reward governance principles and practices by building relationships with HR through cooperative working practices and engagements
  • To build strong relationships with key local and international HR contacts involved in Reward Governance through regular engagement and knowledge sharing
  • To participate in internal consulting assignments and projects which will be focused either on group-wide initiatives or on specific business cluster focused strategic advisory needs
  • To plan and execute the annual Remuneration Committee process in Nedbank by planning the agenda, following up on matters arising and writing remuneration committee papers
  • To play a critical role in the development of the content and in the stakeholder management processes which precede Remuneration Committee meetings by managing the timelines for submission, consolidating feedback and preparing the chairman’s summary and report-back
  • To project manager, draft and coordinate delivery of the annual remuneration report
  • To manage quality and accuracy of submissions to both the Remuneration Report and the Sustainability Report
  • Align the Nedbank remuneration policies and procedures with local and international governance standards
  • To improve personal capability and stay abreast of developments in field of expertise by identifying training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from managers
  • Contributing to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives
  • Research and make recommendations for corporate citizenship initiatives in area of influence
  • To participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy
  • Seeking opportunities to improve business processes, models and systems by identifying and recommending effective ways to operate and adding value to Nedbank

Major Qualifications – NQF Level

  • Must have Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • Must have National Certificates and Occupational Awards
  • Preferred Qualification
  • Must have LLB (Admitted Attorney) or CA(SA)

Minor Experience Level

8 – 10 years overall working experience, including:

5 years’ independent contributor experience in a consulting/advisory environment (as a senior/lead consultant) focused on reward management.


5 years’ independent contributor experience in a specialist Group-level role, focused on reward management
